Prolagus Sardus

Prolagus sardus was an endemic lagomorph (family Ochotonidae) lived in sardinia and Corsica during the Quaternary period, probably until the Roman Epoch. Fossil remains of this animal are very common in several caves of Sardinia, including the Is Zuddas Cave. It seems that Prolagus was an important feed resource for the first human colonists of Sardinia.
